World's Greatest Bar-B-Q

Do you like good BBQ?  If you're like me or any of my buddies, then you're always looking for something new to eat.  We travel a lot, whenever we're out, I keep an eye open for a good meal.  One of the best places I've ever had BBQ from has to be Sonny's Bar-B-Q.  I was on vacation in Orlando, Florida, when we stopped into a Sonny's on 192 in Kissimmee.  The place smelled wonderful, but being on "the strip" near Disney World, we weren't expecting much. Boy, we were extremely surprised.

Sonny's offers many "All-You-Can-Eat" nights, and the night we arrived, they had beef, pork, chicken, or ribs.  It was the "choice" night, so you could eat anything.  I ordered All-You-Can-Eat pork, and the fun began.  They offer sliced or pulled pork, and I had several plates of each.  I also tried the beef, which was simply delightful.  All of the meats are smoked in a real pit (with the official red ring and everything), and none of them have sauce when it comes to the table.  (I like this option, as it lets you control the level of sauce.)  The sauces are on the table, where they have a few varieties, including their signature Sweet sauce, which is one of the best sauces I've ever had.  It was so good in fact, I've bought a gallon of sauce to take home on more than one occasion.

After an extremely satisfying meal, we returned again twice during our week's vacation.  I've tried all the meats, including the chicken, ribs, turkey, beef, and of course the excellent pork.  After finding out that they were a chain of restaurants, we immediately picked up a map so that we could find our nearest location.  Unfortunately for us, the nearest location is in Richmond, Kentucky (around 3-1/2 hours away), but that hasn't stopped us.  We drove there around a month ago, and it was well worth the drive.  (We brought home like $100 worth of take out food, as they sell the meats in bulk as well.)  People thought we were crazy for going so far, but it was well worth the drive.

Sonny's Bar-B-Q has locations in: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee.  If you're within a state's drive away, it's definitely worth checking out.  (Also, if you're just traveling through any of those areas, I recommend making a "pit" stop for Sonny's.  If nothing else, they do sell sauces from their website at http://www.sonnysbbq.com.  Pick up a half gallon of Sweet sauce, and you won't be disappointed.
