Host Acres (Pennant) Screws Us!

11/26/04:  Well, we had previously been hosting our site with Host Acres, a division of Pennant, however, they went out of business.  On November 8, I paid for another full year of service, and on November 22, I received a notice in my email that simply said "Host Acres is going out of business November 30.  All sites and content should be moved out by then."

Isn't that wonderful?  It's nice of a lousy company to give you such short notice that you need to find a new place to host all of your sites.  Eight days notice, but they do "claim" that I will be refunded my remaining balance.  It doesn't seem likely though.  (By the way, two days after receiving the notice, both of the sites I hosted with Host Acres went down.  Of course they didn't provide any support or information.  It was basically a big screw you.)

Well, the reason I bring this up, is because their parent company (Pennant) is still in business.  I just want to let all of my readers know that Pennant is a horrible company to deal with, and I sincerely hope they burn in hell for the way they choose to operate their business.  In fact, if you've got any comments, their website says to contact an owner directly.  Call Mike Duda at 312-756-9000 x114 and let him know why he sucks.  Tell him that it's not cool to screw the little guys, and if you're hosting with them, pull your service while you've got him on the phone.
