Phone Booth

Starring: Colin Ferrell, Kiefer Sutherland, Forest Whitaker, Katie Holmes

Studio: 20th Century Fox

Phone Booth is kind of a creepy movie.  The entire thing takes place in a phone booth, where it all begins with Stu Shepard (Ferrell) answers a ringing phone.  On the other end is a mystery caller (Sutherland) who seems to know a lot of information about Stu.  (Stu cheats on his wife, and does all kinds of other bad things, and the caller seems to know everything.)

The caller starts playing mind games with Stu, warning him that he shouldn't leave the booth until he's told to.  Stu tests the caller a few times, but quickly learns his lesson when a few warning shots come from a window he can't seem to find.

After all the shooting starts, the cops eventually show up, and of course, they suspect the guy in the phone booth.  The caller basically spends the entire movie playing mind games with Stu, telling him that he should revert his evil ways.  The police captain (Whitaker) eventually figures out why Stu won't leave the booth, although he still has trouble finding the sniper.

Overall, the movie is an interesting concept, but it was lacking in content quite a bit.  It's also quite short.  This isn't necessarily a bad thing.  I stayed interested long enough to watch the whole thing.  Phone Booth has one ongoing conversation, and you are never sure just how it will end.  Just stay tuned.

Overall: 7/10
