Ice Age

Starring: Ray Romano, Denis Leary, John Leguizamo

Studio: Blue Sky

Ice Age tells the story of three unlikely friends who end up traveling together during the migration.  Manfred (Romano) is a tough Wooly Mammoth, who is avoiding other animals at all costs.  He decides not to migrate, until he accidentally saves Sid, an annoying little sloth.  Sid immediately latches onto Manny, and won't leave him alone, no matter what he does.  Eventually, they find a human baby, and they decide to travel together just until it's returned to the parents.

Along the way, the pair meets up with Diego (Leary), a vicious saber-toothed tiger.  He also has interests in taking the human baby, but has to pretend to friends with them in order to get it.  Diego claims that he knows how to track humans, and the journey begins.

Much of the movie gets it's humor from the many slapstick-like scenes involving Sid the sloth, and ....  well, every other animal in the movie.  Sid gets himself into all kinds of trouble, and Diego and Manny have to save his hide many times.  It's a hilarious romp, and fun for kids and adults.

Throughout the movie, they show scenes of a small scrat (half squirrel, half rat) trying to hide his precious acorn for the winter.  He gets into all kinds of trouble, and it is loads of fun to watch.  In addition to the in-movie scenes, the DVD also includes an all-new adventure (short) featuring Scrat.

Overall, the movie has a lot of funny action scenes, and it's extremely fun to watch.  Whether you've got kids or not, it's definitely a DVD worthy of any collection.

Overall: 9/10
