The American Pie crew is back!  Well, everyone is back, but a few of the girls didn’t really fit into the movie very well.  Most of them seemed to be back for the paycheck.  This time around, the movie focuses on the guys, fresh out from their first year of college.  They’ve decided to rent a summer house on Lake Michigan.  Jim, Finch, Kevin and Oz have almost enough money to pay the bills for the summer, but they need a fifth person.  Of course, Steve Stifler (Sean William Scott) is a perfect choice.  It simply wouldn’t be a Pie movie without him.

The movie starts out with the same zaniness as it’s predecessor.  (Of course, there plenty of other gags throughout the movie.)  The guys are having fun working their summer jobs and living at the beach house, but there’s something missing.  They need to have an “End of Summer” party!  Jim (Jason Biggs) finds out that Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth) is going to be coming back to visit hum, and he needs to plan fast.  He enlists the help of his one night stand from the first movie Michelle (Alyson Hannigan).

Jim is completely unsure of his technique, so Michelle is more than helpful in helping him improve.  This too, leads to Jim having some quite memorable scenes.  (I don’t know how this guy keeps getting himself into so much trouble!)  Thanks to Michelle’s help, Jim is finally able to communicate women prior to Nadia’s arrival.

The movie has it’s fair share of Stifler gags, most of which are too graphic to describe in a review.  While the guys were back for their roles as Jim’s friends, it seemed like the girls (except for Hannigan and Elizabeth) sort of phoned their performances in.  They weren’t really important to the plot, and I wouldn’t really have noticed if they weren’t there.

Overall though, the movie had a great feel, and just as many comic moments as the first one.  The story was slow going at first, but the humor more than made up for it.  It ended on a good note, and I was satisfied with the results.  I think you will be too.  It’s definitely one worth picking up for the collection.

Overall: 8/10
